The Munich Show—Gemworld Munich—offers young talents an ideal opportunity to learn early on about career paths and training opportunities in the gemstone, jewelry, and mineral industry. Through direct interaction with young designers, aspiring goldsmiths, and other up-and-coming professionals, interested visitors gain authentic insights into various job profiles, training paths, and personal career experiences. This allows visitors to make initial contacts, ask questions about potential educational paths, and explore prospects for their own career entry.
Those with a particular interest in minerals and fossils will also find numerous representatives from mineral and fossil associations in Hall B2. They provide insights into the industry’s diverse fields of activity and can assist with questions regarding entry-level opportunities, specialized knowledge, and further career development options.

The Idar-Oberstein Vocational School – Harald Fissler School – Booth A1.445
The Idar-Oberstein Vocational School—Harald-Fissler-Schule—will showcase the work of its trainees at the Munich Show 2026, particularly in the fields of gemstone cutting and engraving. Live demonstrations will provide insights into the hands-on training offered through the dual education system, which is closely linked to the regional gemstone industry. This approach imparts both craftsmanship and in-depth knowledge of gemstone processing. Idar-Oberstein is one of the world’s most important centers for gemstone processing and trade.

The Pforzheim School of Goldsmithing and Watchmaking – Booth A1.344
The Pforzheim School of Goldsmithing and Watchmaking is a center of excellence for the jewelry and watchmaking trades that has grown out of a long tradition; its roots date back to 1768, making it one of the oldest vocational schools in the world. For over 250 years, the Goldsmithing School has been dedicated to providing young people with a modern education and offering them secure career prospects. In addition to traditional goldsmithing training, the school also trains watchmakers, gem setters, engravers, metal artists, electroplating technicians, jewelry designers, and product designers. Currently, 50 instructors from all theoretical and practical disciplines are available to support the more than 500 trainees. Workshops equipped with both modern and traditional tools offer a full spectrum of traditional and contemporary techniques. Our students would like to showcase some of these techniques at the Goldsmith School and Watchmaking School booth at the Munich Show, including gemstone setting using a microscope. Various setting techniques, such as cutting and pressing, will be demonstrated. In addition, the production of gears and the installation of ruby and bronze bearings for these gears will be shown. Visitors can try their hand at the classic surface finishing technique of guilloché, and our product designers will demonstrate how to create three-dimensional sketches and 3D models. For our young visitors, we're once again offering the chance to make bracelets out of stone beads, and we'll demonstrate how to make different types of necklaces—both by hand and using a necklace-making machine.
